Interesting Facts about Myself

Hi, my name is Brian (Chanhyun) Yoo and I will now shortly introduce about myself. I am a boy from Korea who is becpming second grade of Junior High. First I will talk about what I like.
I like many different things. I like doing rock climbing in places near Big Bear and other places. I also like to kayak near the Catalina Island. The subjects I like are History, Biology, and Paleobiology. I like History because it is interesting to know how and why the countries went in to war like the Hundred Years War or the World War I, and II. Also I like to learn how the countries formed, how it expanded, and the problems they had. I started to like paleobiology when I went to a camp called Johns Hopkins University camp. There I was planning to learn biology however I thought learning the basics of biology is also important so I learned paleobiology there. I also like to travel to many countries. I currently went to U.S., Canada, Mexico, China, Singapore, and many other countries. The travels I have done till now have been really helpful for me to learn about history and culture of that countries. Now I will talk about my experience in America.
I went to America every year since when I was born. I attended American school when I was in Fourth grade. When I first went to America there were many confusing thing in America like the culture, languages, gradings, and many other things. In Korea, they only give number scores, however since in America they give letter scores, I was very confused. I was also confused with detentions and what it is because there are no detentions in Korea. The good thing about America was that since basketball is so popular, I was able to learn the rules of basketball and how the game runs. One year later, I was able to be in our schools basketball team.
I guess this is the end of my introduction. Thank you for reading my introduction.

Summary of the Creativity Speech

Today, our writing teacher had made a speech about creativity and told us to summarize it. Now here is the summary.
Creativity is a production which can be fun and reasonable. However, creativity is not reproduction of something that has already been made. Also it is not easy and it is not magic.
Our writing teacher talked about pseudo-science of the theory of how the eye shifting is good for increasing creativity. There are many myths about the creativity. For example, one of the myths says drugs and alcohol can strengthen creativity.  Also our writing teacher said that being constructive is bad for creativity. So instead of a paper with constructive writing on it, the blank canvas is much more better. Lastly, fear, deadlines, and money can encourage creativity.
Some of the works or activities don't require creativity. You might need to be good at art to be good at creativity. Some restrictions can improve creativity.
Now I will tell you what damages creativity. As many teachers or parents do, some people give money, prizes, and compliments on the thing they are doing. However, the giving of money, prizes, and compliments is suprisizingly damaging the creativity very much. One famous actor named John Cleese, who also came out in Harry Potter movies as "Nearly Headless Nick", said that distrations like phones kill creativity. Lastly, studying for Modern Standardized Tests are harmful to creativity.
Now that I finished about damaging creativity, I will talk about how to do if you don't want creativity. You can use standard responses like, "How are you?" to deacrease your creativity.
These are some ways to motivate student to be creative. You can make Fed-ex Day and let the student choose the material for one day or month. You can praise him, or her effort and strategy, but not on intelligence. Also seeing big picture helps students to be more creative.
